As I move to China, I have also chosen a Chinese name: 沙宇仁, read as Shā Yǔrén. 沙 (Shā) derives from my family name but also refers to sand or fine grains, in other words, the building blocks of rocky planetesimals. 宇 (Yǔ) means the universe and 仁 (rén) denotes humaneness or kindness, alluding to the Sanskrit meaning of my given name.
